A four member delegation from the Kingdom of Bahrain headed by Dr. Jumah Ahmed Al Ka'aby, Undersecretary for Municipality Affairs (Ministry of Municipality and Agriculture) took part in the ‘International Ministerial Conference on Avian and Pandemic Influenza held in New Delhi from 4th Dec. to 7th Dec. 2007.

This Conference was attended by 750 delegates including top health and veterinary scientists, policy-makers and ministers from 111 countries and 29 international and intergovernmental organizations, including the Director Generals of WHO, FAO, OIE and senior dignitaries of development agencies like the World Bank, USAID, DFID.

Recognizing animal diseases as a threat to global health and business, all participants came together to deliberate on ways to improve the global preparedness for avian and pandemic influenza.
